2022 has been a busy year for our clients. From acquisitions, job announcements and awards there had been plenty of great news to go around. Here are just some of the highlights of 2022. 

After opening in 2021, Limerick Greenway increased visits by 52% in 2022. In May this year, Limerick Greenway marked the milestone of over 500,000 visits since its reopening in July 2021 and as of October the reached over 800,000 visitors. Limerick Greenway follows the old Limerick to Kerry railway line through the tranquil rural West Limerick landscape and offers visitors a rich experience that centres around accessibility, biodiversity with native species of trees and shrubs as well as wildlife, and heritage with its choice of some of the country’s most historic sites. If you haven’t already visited – put it on your list for 2023!

Many of our clients conducted fundraising throughout the year for their chosen charity partners. The team at Telus International Ireland raised €44,000 for the company’s charity partners My Lovely Horse Rescue and Aware as part of this year’s TELUS Days of Giving. Team members from three TELUS International Ireland sites in Cork, Dublin and Mayo took part in the TELUS Days of Giving virtual challenge to walk, run or cycle 200km, the equivalent of the Ring of Kerry. Funds raised will support vital services for people living with depression and bipolar disorder through Aware as well as supporting My Lovely Horse Rescue’s efforts in rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming equines and other animals at its centres in Cork and Kildare.

I Wish 2022 drew an audience of 17,036 second-level students from all 32 counties in Ireland as well as from 28 countries across Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and South America. Their annual report found that female students’ perspectives on STEM, has revealed significant change, with 93% of girls surveyed rejecting the stereotype that STEM careers are more suited to boys, in contrast with 78% in 2016. 

Congratulations to FPD Recycling who were recently approved for a total investment package of €17.7 million under the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator and announced the creation of 20 new high-level roles over the next 12 months. 
The Limerick-headquartered company plan to use the funding to scale one of its divisions, FPD Recycling, an end-to-end AI-powered solution for the safe, sustainable and profitable recycling and depollution of flat panel displays (FPDs).

Rethink Ireland awarded €750,000 to nine innovative non-profit organisations in Munster with a focus on improving physical and mental wellbeing for communities in the region. The Fund, will back nine charitable projects to provide support for children and youth in high-risk groups, people with Down Syndrome, those in temporary accommodation, and bereavement care.
