Welcoming the announcement, the Minister for Research and Innovation Mr Sean Sherlock said:

“Delivering strong export growth is fundamental delivering the economic recovery we are all working so hard to achieve.  Internationalising our services sector is one of the areas that offers particular potential for export growth.  Through the Action Plan for Jobs, the Government is determined to support Irish services such as Contracting Plus to help them build their overseas business and support valuable job creation at home.”

Commenting on the announcement, Michael Dineen, Chairperson and Founder of Contracting PLUS said: “We were delighted when the opportunity arose to buy out our minority shareholder and become a wholly owned Irish company.  We have seen significant growth in the flexible workforce in Ireland and our company has expanded in line with that growth.  We are delighted to take this opportunity to announce our rebrand which we believe reflects more accurately what we do.  Contracting PLUS will continue to provide contractors and the contracting market with expert accounting solutions and assist in contracting related queries both nationally and internationally.  We have ambitious growth plans and will actively be recruiting for the new roles in the coming months. The jobs will range from graduate to management level across a number of disciplines including Sales & Marketing, Finance, Tax, Payroll and IT.”

Congratulating the company Frank Ryan, CEO of Enterprise Ireland said: “Enterprise Ireland’s strategy is to help Irish services companies to expand and secure business beyond the domestic market promoting growth and employment in Ireland.  Contracting PLUS’s ambitious export-focused strategy clearly demonstrates the potential they see for export-led growth.  I congratulate the company and its management team on their expansion plans and wish them every success with their internationalisation.”

Turnover at Contracting PLUS has increased year on year in line with the very buoyant contracting market.  This year their turnover exceeded €4.6m reflecting a 20% increase over the previous year.

“Foreign Direct Investment is attracted to Ireland by our highly skilled young flexible workforce.  The main focus of Contracting PLUS is to support contractors therefore promoting this contingent workforce and the benefits of contracting for the Irish Economy.” added Mr Dineen.
