New Details Announced for Cork City Culture Night’s Special Events
Cork City Council announced the details of how to win tickets to a Secret Concert by Lisa Hannigan on Cork City Culture Night, September 19th. The concert is presented by Cork City Council in association with Triskel Arts Centre.
The event will see the well-known musician perform at a unique Cork City location, which won’t be revealed until the night. The distinctive venue has very limited capacity, which makes the Secret Concert one of Culture Night’s most exclusive events. Space is limited and tickets can be won via the Cork City Arts Facebook and Twitter pages, via Triskel Arts Centre website, and via 96FM.
“Surely one of the most spectacular focus points this year is Lisa Hannigan’s Secret Gig” says Cork City Arts Officer Liz Meaney. “This concert, jointly promoted with Triskel Arts Centre, promises to be a very special and memorable moment which will be shared with only a small number of people. I encourage everyone to try to be in this particular audience”.
Ticket winners will be notified of a time and place where they will meet Culture Night representatives on September 19th. From there, the group will be led to the undisclosed location where the venue will finally be revealed.
Another new development in the Culture Night programme is the announcement of the line-up for the Outdoor Cinema in Fitzgerald’s Park. Cork Film Festival in conjunction with Cork City Council released the exciting agenda for the free event, which will take place after dark in the newly-renovated outdoor venue. Things will kick off just as the sun sets, with a 7:30 showing of the Oscar nominated short Give up Yer Aul Sins, by Brown Bag Films, followed by the beautifully animated The Secret of Kells by Cartoon Saloon. The night continues with a 9:00 screening of The Commitments, one of Ireland’s most beloved classics.
Cork Culture Night’s stellar programme continues with The Vanbrugh Quartet, who will captivate audiences with a Concert by Candlelight at 10:00 PM in Concert Hall, City Hall. The four-piece ensemble is regaled as one of Europe’s most successful quartets and admired for their broad repertoire.
Tickets for the Vanbrugh’s extraordinary event are free and can now be booked through Eventbrite (http://bit.ly/1u61p7E). There is limited availability and they’re going quickly so those interested are encouraged to reserve their spot as soon as possible.
