Cork will play host to one of the highlights of the summer social calendar next month when ‘Core Revelations’ jewellery catwalk show takes place at The Bodega, Cornmarket Street on Thursday, 15th of August 8pm til late.

The show, which is part of Cork Craft Month, is being spear-headed by renowned Cork-based jeweller Tuula Harrington of Designworks on Cornmarket Street and will feature stunning pieces of haute couture jewellery created by 17 of Ireland’s most prestigious and talented jewellery designers and goldsmiths.

Tickets for the event are on sale with all proceeds from the show going towards the Cork Cancer Research Centre.

To echo the exclusivity of the jewellery that will be showcased on the night, guests will be treated to a night of glamour and entertainment like non-other with a complimentary drinks reception on arrival, live entertainment, impressive spot prizes including Best Dressed and an after-show event that will allow the audience the opportunity to try these beautiful pieces and to speak to the talented and daring designers behind the stunning creations.

According to Ms Harrington, whose work has been commissioned by KT Tunstall and President Mary McAleese; “We have immense talent and craftsmanship not just in Cork but across Ireland with many of our designers pushing boundaries in terms of what technique and materials they use to create simply stunning pieces of jewellery.

“Our innovation, creativity and passion sets us and our work apart and I think people realise the value of handmade craft how special, unique and custom-made these pieces are.”

The event will be produced and MC’d by Eddie Shanahan, Chairman of the Council of Irish Fashion Designers who promised a “fashion show with a difference”.

“It will be a night full of imagination featuring stunning statement and design-led pieces made by people who really know their craft,” he stated.

“These jewellers are on par with the best in the world in terms of their innovation and ability to work and use material from precious to semi-precious material to sustainable buffalo horns studded with white sapphires, as an example of one of the pieces that will feature on the night.”
