Travel Counsellors has secured a place on a prestigious listing in the UK in recognition of the company’s international sales growth in the last 12 months.

This is the sixth time the business has been ranked in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200, and sees it rise to 164th, up six places on last year.

The independent global travel company, which now has over 1600 home-based Travel Counsellors running their own businesses across Ireland, the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, South Africa, Australia, and the UAE, has consistently achieved strong growth figures, with group turnover increasing by 63% over the past three years, and growth in international operations increasing by 86% during the same period. The company’s Total Transaction Value for the financial year end (31 October 2016) is £447m (€507m).

The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 league table ranks companies with the fastest-growing global sales, measured over their latest two years of available accounts, with minimum total sales of £25m (€28m) and international sales of at least £1m (€1.13m).

Steve Byrne, CEO said: “We are thrilled to be recognised for the sixth time for our rapid growth overseas. We attribute the continued success of the business to our model that puts the care for our people at the heart of everything we do, and uses technology to enhance the personal relationships and exceptional service our Travel Counsellors provide to their loyal customer base.

“This is why our model has really been embraced by the international markets we have expanded into, with our international presence also benefiting our Travel Counsellors and their customers by building on our global buying power, local knowledge and enabling true 24/7 support.”

General Manager of Travel Counsellors Ireland, Cathy Burke added: “It is fantastic to be listed again on the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200. Travel Counsellors is a truly global company, and we are delighted to have contributed to its success here in Ireland.
