We were delighted to be asked to provide marketing and communications advice to the towns of Killaloe and Ballina for the hugely popular television series Local Heroes, which aired on RTE on November 3rd.

In an effort to boost tourism, a local group of business people and volunteers came up with the idea to organise ‘love weekends’ aimed at attracting couples to the towns with discounts and offers.

But with the clock ticking, RTE drafted in the expertise of Susie Horgan, director of Springboard PR & Marketing to distil her advice and recommendations.

Susie felt that while their product was good, their ability to promote was letting them down and they needed a unique event to spark interest in the weekends.
